Announcing Admiral as easyCar Club’s new insurance partner

ad_LOZENGEbrand guide.pngeasyCar Club, the UK’s leading peer-to-peer car rental market place, has partnered with car insurance specialist Admiral to provide comprehensive insurance for all easyCar Club rentals. Not only is this partnership a watershed moment for the sharing economy, it’s also great news for easyCar Club members.

More cars than ever before: easyCar Club now accepts most makes and models of cars on the UK streets, with values up to £40,000, and many of the most common vans. For renters this means they’ll enjoy a wider selection of vehicles to rent, and for owners this means even more chances to put their idle vehicles to work.

New members to rent: We know how diverse the UK is, and over the last two years we’ve fielded hundreds of enquiries from UK residents with licences from around the world. We’re pleased to say that in addition to UK and EU licences, we can now accept UK residents who hold licences from the USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and a selection of other countries.

More age diversity: For the first time, easyCar Club will accept drivers aged 21 to 25. We know that our owners are conscious of who they rent their car to, so drivers aged under 25 will have to have held a full licence for 3 years, and will be excluded from renting certain higher value vehicles. We’re excited that experienced younger drivers will now be able to join the easyCar Club community.

Changes to cover: As the insurance policy has been designed from the ground up to meet the needs of our members and the sharing economy specifically, we have worked with Admiral to enhance the insurance cover in a number of small ways. For example, the policy now provides some cover for a renter’s personal belongings, and even introduces limited medical expenses cover for the renter and other vehicle occupants.

Great customer service: Admiral have sold over 11 million policies since they were established in 1993, so they know a thing or two about customer service. With Admiral’s thousands of staff in the UK, easyCar Club members can expect a great level of service from their insurance provider.

Embracing innovation: Admiral are known in the insurance industry for their open-minded approach to innovation. Already Admiral are considering ways in which technology can help to make the sign up and rental process smoother and quicker, and easyCar Club members can look forward to all sorts of developments through the life of the partnership.
